Our Purpose

We believe in professing our faith through living it out. Covenant has a rich history of practicing a “mission of presence.” We work to develop long-term relationships, to listen, and to respond to the people in our sister communities in Atlanta and around the world – including our Haiti partnership on the island of LaGonave.

Our Story

We have been actively involved in the Atlanta community since we first opened our doors in 1902. Covenant has a long history of working toward social justice.

In the 1960s, our church advocated for civil rights and desegregation in Atlanta’s public school system. Today, Covenant champions for the rights of immigrants, the poor, and the marginalized wherever they are.

All Are Welcome

We support a culture of intellectual, spiritual, and emotional freedom where dogma, institutional constraints, theology, belief, and faith are examined, questioned and, if needed, reformed.
— Covenant's Mission Statement

We are a church that honors all questions and welcomes all people. We believe in working toward Christ’s radical hospitality, inclusion, and acceptance of others. Covenant is a proud member of the Covenant Network of Presbyterians.
